CLARIFICATION OF ORDINARY FAMILY PENSION
(Pension Reforms)
Government of Pakistan, Finance Division, (Regulation Wing) vide Office Memorandum No. F. 9(3)/Reg.6/2024-264 dated 22nd January, 2025 circulated the copies of Office Memorandum to all concerned departments of Government of Pakistan regarding different clarifications of “Pension Reforms” and clarification of ordinary family pension through clarification of pension rules. It is matter of fact that Finance Division after receipt of different queries regarding new rules, move for clarification of different paragraphs of ordinary family pension to make it clear for the departments and the officials / officers going to retire from their government services.
In the above Office Memorandum, the said office referred Finance Division’s O.M. No. F. 9(3)R6/2024-264 dated: 10.09.2024 on the above subject and stated that Finance Division is in receipt of number of queries with regard to Finance Division’s O.M. dated: 10.09.2024 In order to address those queries.

Clarifications regarding following queries on “Ordinary Family Pension” were issued:

Applicability of the Finance Division’s O.M dated: 10.09.2024 to the existing family pensioners.

Treatment of Minor Children for grant ordinary family pension.

What if, a Minor Child does not remain Minor during the receipt of Family Pension.
Entitlement of family members and Order/Priority in which the family pension will be granted. In case widow is drawing family pension and gets disqualified on or after 10.09.2024. Following her disqualification, unmarried / widow/ divorced daughter become eligible after 10.09.2024 whether she will be eligible for pension for 10 years or for life.
Finance Division (Regulation Wing) clarified each query in detail to make it easy for every department and individual to make it applicable. Hope that queries regarding ordinary family pension for new and existing family pensioners and treatment of minor child would be resolved.
